This laptop is one of the more expensive than the other options but it also packs really good specs. It has the 9th generation i7-9750H which is about the best CPU option you have. The CPU has 6 cores and 12 mb cache. This CPU is really good for music production. I don’t recommend skimping on the CPU as music production is one of the most CPU intensive tasks actually. 

The laptop has an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU. This is a really good GPU and probably better than what you would need for a lot of music production purposes. This laptop is a very good option if you like other things such as playing video games or do video editing as well. The combination of the CPU and GPU will be one of the best combinations you can have for music production. It packs an incredible amount of power. The only thing is that it is a bit expensive. But you get what you pay for, and powerful parts will also last longer than cheap ones. 

There is 512 GB of SSD storage. This is more in line with what we would be looking for. You have enough room for quite a lot of programs and assets on this disk. SSDs are more expensive because they are better than regular hard drives. You can read faster from them which is great when you have a lot of different input files. 

The laptop is also thin and has a very good looking screen. The reason why this machine is the best is because of its superior parts and price combination. If you can get over the fact that the Helios really looks like a gaming laptop then this is a good option. It might not look amazing (unless you are a gamer..) but it does provide really good specs. Gaming laptop features are also features that are good for music production because music production is such a resource demanding task. 

The laptop has a 9th generation i7-9750H. This is one of the best CPUs you will find. Many more expensive gaming models have the same CPU and it will work really good for music production. It has 6 cores, up to 4.5GHz, and up to 12 mb cache. This CPU is one of the best ones for FL studio music production. 

There is also a GPU. It has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 TI with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM. This is great for offloading some of the work from the CPU. The GPU is great of computations, and many plugins are able to take advantage of it if you have a GPU. A GPU also makes it suitable for playing video games if you are into that. This is a gaming laptop after all, and you can expect it to be really good at resource demanding tasks.

The ROG Zephyrus is a gaming laptop, which offers a lot of the same qualities that are good for music production. For the most part, you want a good CPU, good amount of RAM, and perhaps a GPU. This computer has all of those.

It comes with an Intel i7-9750h Hexa-Core processor. This is one of the best CPUs you can get these days. You could get a better CPU if you built your own desktop, but as far as laptops goes this is a great option.

The computer also comes with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU. This is a very good GPU. Music production can be quite resource intensive and having a GPU can offload some of that work from the CPU. If you have a great CPU and a GPU like this computer does then you should not have much trouble with resources at least.

The laptop also has a 1TB SSD which is great. You will need a lot of room for your assets. Having a large SSD can be pretty important for music production, but you can always get away with some external storage too if the laptop you chose does not have enough space.

The MSI GS65 Stealth-430 is a great laptop for FL studio. Its strongest advantage is that it is very powerful. It has an Intel Core i7-9750H CPU. This is the same CPU that is in most of the high end laptops, and you wont be able to find anything much better than this for a while.

The laptop also has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080 GPU. This is one of the best GPUs you get in a laptop. It has 8GB of GDDR6 RAM. This GPU makes the laptop suitable not only for playing video games but also for something very intensive and could be a good laptop for machine learning. The GPU also makes it well suited for Revit.

There is 32 GB of DDR4 RAM on this compuer. 32 GB should be more than enough for Revit for quite some time. You should be able to upgrade this in the future as this computers would last you a long time.

There is also a massive 1TB SSD. This is great because it can hold a lot of files. You can also get external storage for any laptop you end up selecting. 256 GB should be the minimum you would consider though.

As this is also a gaming laptop, it has a 240Hz display. Not too important for Revit, but if you also like to play video games then this is a good feature.

What to look for in the best laptop for FL studio

Below are some of the things you need to consider when doing your research. In order to find the best laptop for fruity loops you should take the below into consideration.

What amount of storage to get

Most laptops unless they have a very small disk will be able to meet the 4 GB of free disk space requirement. That being said, many cheaper notebooks only have a 128 GB SSD. If you have this little space you won’t be able to install a lot or keep many files. You probably want to get a laptop with an SSD that is at least 256 GB. That will leave you some room for other programs as well. You can always get an external hard drive that you can keep your assets on too.

Most laptops these days come with an SSD. SSDs are more expensive than hard drives but they are much faster. The loading time with an SSD versus a regular Hard Drive is quite significant. That being said, since Hard Drives are cheaper you also get more storage space with them. Some laptops have a combination of hard drive and SSD but often they are a bit more expensive. 

What amount of RAM to get

For mid range laptops the new standard is 8 GB of RAM. You will only find 4 GB options on low end computers. 8 GB should be more than enough for any task you might want to perform, not only for FL studio. That being said, you will find 16 GB options quite common on mid range laptops. RAM is quite important for the laptop to be able to smoothly handle a lot of things at the same time. Because of that there is often a significant performance increase related to getting more RAM. This performance increase is only noticeable up to a certain point, and more than 16 GB would not make much of a difference for you at this point. 

Another thing to consider when it comes to RAM is the type of RAM. You will see that there are two types of RAM, DDR3 and DDR4. DDR4 is newer. It is both faster and it uses less power. It is a lot better to get a computer with DDR4 RAM. Not only because it is better, but also because you can’t upgrade from DDR3 to DDR4. The reason is that the chips are different forms and they do not fit in the slots for the other type. In a laptop you can usually upgrade to more amount of RAM. So if you get a computer with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM you can buy another 8 GB chip as there are usually two slots, but only one is in use. But if you get the DDR3 kind then you will be limited to upgrading to DDR3, which will be limiting the longevity of the computer. 

In addition to considering what is the best laptop for FL Studio, you also have to consider how long you want to keep the computer. The better the parts the better for FL studio, and also the longer it is likely to last. You also don’t need the latest and greatest notebook to run FL studio, but probably a computer that is all around great and will last a long time. 

Should you get a GPU?

Music production is a heavy resource consuming tasks. It will stretch your CPU to its limits, and one thing you can do in order to get better performance is to have a dedicated GPU. GPUs are great for other things than just graphics. They are amazing at performing computations. Actually, if the load on your CPU is too high it can cause interference with live audio. To offset some of the load on the CPU you could take advantage of the GPU. Many mid range laptops do come with GPUs. GPUs are good for pretty much anything that requires a lot of computation resources from your notebook. I recommend getting a GPU in any computer that will be used for resource demanding tasks. That being said, you will be okay without one too.

What Screen Should You be Looking For?

FL studio has a lot going on in the UI, and you want to make sure that you can comfortably see all the things. Because of that, I recommend that you at least get a 15 inch computer. There are many really good looking 13 inch computers out there but 13 inches is quite small. For productivity you should either get a 15 inch or a 17 inch. Most notebooks these days come with full HD screen and you don’t need anything better than that. Unless you play video games or do video editing that will be more than good enough. Just make sure you take the screen size into consideration. 

CPU Options

You will notice that most computers either have an 8th generation or a 9th generation CPU. Some low end notebooks also have 7th gen versions. I recommend that you get an i7 that is either an 8th or a 9th generation. As the official requirements state, the better the CPU the better FL studio will run. A 9th gen i7 will pretty much be as good as it gets for a computer. The CPU is the brain of the computer and you don’t want to skimp on this. That being said, if you are looking for a cheaper option then you will be okay with an 8th gen too. I would recommend that you stick with an i7 model though.
